Backyard Furniture
All our furniture is hand made to order for your comfort. We use Western Red Cedar and Stainless Steel hardware to make it last for years of enjoyment. Western Red Cedar has natural oils in it that repels insects from eating and nesting in the wood and resists rotting. The stainless screws will not rust out and leave unsightly stains running down the wood. You can leave it bare and the cedar over time will turn into a silver color. If you wish to use a varathane to finish it, we recommend using one that has U-V protection in it. Painting is not recommend for covering Cedar as the natural oils in it will make the paint peel.
Cedar furniture when left out in the sun will not become so hot that you cannot sit in it like so many plastic and poly fiber materials. It will acclimatize to your body temperature. It also will not make you feel "sticky" sitting in it.
